brasilia

sitting in the airport in brasilia, the capital of brasil, with martin, anderson, and peter. waiting for our next flight to sao luis in the north. been waiting for this for awhile now. very excited to see what happens this week while we are up there.

spent the first 2 days in rio, and the last 3 days in campos. totally awesome. everywhere we have gone i have been totalyl blown away and blessed in every way. feel like im on a massive learning curve prophetically, and also that these days are important in terms of conneting me into what god is doing here in his church in brasil. feeling a strong connection to this place. feel like i was born for this country and in many ways have been storing myself up for this place. no idea what that will mean for the future but im excited. being to form some connections here. very exciting. although slowly slowly in the process. but thats cool.

rio in the heat...

im here and its HOT!!! having an amzing time so far and very stretching too...which is good. i managed to sneak off for a quick cold one with one of the other team members, which was a welcome break from the nonstop praying and interceding for the nation. whew. ( i totally get the whole need to go to the cinema thing girls! and ive only done oe afternnon! ha ha) its great though and i feel like im maturing and growing in godly authority by the minute. really excited about these next few weeks and all that god is going to do and what im going to see etc. so cool. but i will certainly be knackered by the end of it. as soon as i landed here i felt at home...this is my country that im certain of. i totally love love love it here.

lovin living the dream too...this timereally feels like it more than ever before. one step at a time, one relationship leading to the next. sweet.

im off now...for more of what...who knows but im taking it as it comes.

why im currently laughing....

- just read been reading blogs from people here in whistler....pictures of the pool truck. didnt make it out to the event...but by the looks of it, prehaps it should become a tradition? they (whistler posse) basically covered the back of dave's pickup with plastic sheeting and then filled it with water...donned their skimpies and cracked open a few brewskies...picked a driver and proceeded to parade around the village in the heat of the sun! seriously sweet man! ha ha

karens blog about madi's major fo-paw...see links in the sidebar....still laughing!

my spelling of fo-paw.

the fact that im off to brasil again.

had a party the other week for jill becuase she was taking off to costa rica to surf for a month (hi jilli-vanilli!) and as you do, she decided to make a pumpkin pie. may i say at this stage that thanksgiving was over...but nevermind i like pumpkin pie! however she was short an egg...so the next person that called about the party was told to bring an egg. unfortanitly it was a guy who obviously doesnt care much about baking because he brought a hard boiled egg. hee hee still makes me giggle. so it came to be that everyone who showed up at the party needed to bring a RAW egg. needlesstosay...eggs was the last thing i threw out of the fridge today when i moved out of my house.

thats all for now folks, im off to catch my bus to vancouver.

current brasil status...

IM GOING!!!!!!!!

flights...check
money....check

seriously miracle after miracle with this one.

internet time is ticking away so more from the other side!

current brasil status...

no flights, no money, lots of hope, lots of faith.
on a scale of 1 to 10....i'd say that puts me at a 6.

not too shabby.

ill keep you posted...i have 5 more days to sort it out.

outubro 15, 2006

just finished nelson mandelas book "long walk to freedom". officially the biggest book ive ever read. over 700 pages ad i read every single one of 'em! yeah!

loved it. inspired me.

"to be free is not merely to cast off ones chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others." love it!

"courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it." love that too.

and for the grand finale, after his inaugeration as president of south africa and accomplishing in part what he had been fighting for all those years, mandela said, "i can only rest for a moment, for with freedom comes responsibilities and i dare not linger, for my walk is not yet ended."

beautiful.

a lot of sneezing.

its been so long that i nearly forgot how to log in. yeish a month.

back in whistler..been here for 2 weeks now. working, sleeping, sneezing, working sleeping, sneezing, eating pumpkin pie, friends buggering off to hot places, working, sneezing. thats the general jist of it. seem to be allergic to dust or something...sneezing a lot. kinda sucks then that my job is cleaning, at the moment. hence the sneezing.

apart from that, i joined the gym and spend my days working hard to get back to brasil....hopefully in 8 days...for 2 weeks. so far the status is.....no flights, no money. but i think its gonna come together. so send a big one up for me if ya get the chance. ill keep you posted. thoughts on brasil and the future continue to develope and scare me. cool. i guess thats why i want to go for these two weeks to the north of the country...think it will hook me up with some connections for the future or something.

.......................

sometimes i think we need to declare what it is we want to see happen and thats half the battle done. so im going to declare that this 12 months is a time of some of the random pieces in my life coming together. there are so many things that i have been dreaming over the years and waiting on....not sure of how they all fit together. but im feeling it..the moment...some making sense of it all...at least some of it anyway. sweet.

i need to sneeze.
