a bishop and a duck

canadians are keeners man. it wasn't even halloween and already i'd seen more costumes than the last 5 years put together. and the most unlikely couples as well... the bride from kill bill and 2 robots, marilyn monroe and the pirate from the caribbean, and a bishop and a duck walked onto the bus together. the funniest tho was this guy who had taken a night table cut a hole in the middle, attached it to his waist, taped a phone and a notepad to it, put a lampshade on his head and a sign around his neck saying, "for sale... 1 Night-stand". and girls were actually coming up to him and putting their phone numbers down on his notepad! so cheeky, but very funny! couldn't quite figure out what his mate was...something to do with beavers. again, a very odd combo. made the long bus ride home last night much more interesting.

discovered i can play ping pong. it's actually quite a dangerous sport when fully engaged. no injuries but a few dives were executed magnificently. me and my partner won 3 out of 4 games. i really just wet along for the ice cream. mmmm....

dropped reeks off at the airport then went to watch the sunset. need to do that more often.

jillmarie is moving in today. so i have a roomie again! happy days.

it's 6am and the house is quiet. apart from the noise from the nearby train yard. i've been to the airport and back once already this morning. my housemate is on her way to mexico for a holiday. i miss the sun.

reeks is here. had some great chats over coffee and saw the motorcycle diaries last night. it's made the top 5's list. it's also the first movie i've seen where i've read the book first. i felt smart as i sat in the cinema.

went to bed early and woke up early. been doing that a lot as of late. but this time it wasn't for work. i lit candles, put on some music, made some coffee and spent time with god. as daylight fought its way for recognition outside i sat there warm and peaceful inside, with a smile on my face as my duvet took on marshmellow-like qualities in an attempt to swallow me up. i must do this more often.

been redecorating my room one wall at a time, and this morning i was inspired with plans for another one.

feel at the moment that i'm having to fight for my dreams and my life here. i'm sure everyone has times like that... this is mine. so in the meantime i'm taking isaiah's good advice and standing here on the mountain with my wings spread wide open....waiting for the gust.

tesol poll

"i see beauty all around, in the dirt of the streets, the broken windows, the crying child, the mindless man. true beauty is only revealed when you are totally free. my aim is to capture the transitory nature of our lives and to show a humble grace unbound by structure with no artifice or surface." - photographer marielle tait's mission statement, taken from adbusters

it's been a quiet autumn for me and the blogster...but i'm back on the scene and the photos are updated.

what i'm currently doing is serving coffee and trying to figure out my life here in vancouver.
what i'd like to be doing is flying to greece to watch resa say 'i do'.

i'm currently taking a poll on whether it's a good idea for me to take a tesol course. please join in by making a comment.
